Kenya is an all year round safari destination. A country in East Africa with a coastline on the Indian Ocean. It encompasses savannah, Lakelands, the dramatic Great Rift Valley and mountain highlands. Wildlife is abundant including the big 5 and known for its annual wildebeest migration. From Nairobi, the capital city, safaris visit to the various National Parks and reserves, history, different cultures and white sand beaches, each day will offer you a different and new experience.
Visa / eTA Requirements
The Government of Kenya introduced the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) which replaced the previous EVisa for entry to Kenya. This is applied for online at the official Government website: https://www.etakenya.go.ke at a cost of $30 per person for a single entry (other financial charges may also apply).
Please be advised that there are several websites that offer Kenya eTA application services, but only the official Government website https://etakenya.go.ke actually issues the eTA itself. The eTA is mandatory for all foreign visitors travelling to Kenya (including children and infants) except for those who are specifically exempted.Visitors to Kenya are classified into THREE categories.
Category 1 : Visitors from countries in the Category 1 list are Exempt from eTA/Visa.
Category 2 : Visitors from countries in the Category 2 list can apply for an ETA online at Ecitizen.
Category 3 : Visitors from countries in the Category 3 list CANNOT make eTA applications online at eCitizen as they require Referred Visas . Their applications are referred to the Director of Immigration services for processing and approval

Vaccinations
We recommend seeking advice from your local agent/health practitioner on the appropriate vaccinations you may need. Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if travelling from any yellow fever-endemic country.
Seasons
Dry season: January-March and July-October
Rainy/wet Season: April- Early June and November – December
The best time to travel is July-October and also when the great migration takes place. Wild life is also easier to spot during the dry season.

Plugs & Voltage
The standard voltage in Kenya is 240 volts with a standard frequency of 50Hz and the associated plug type is G. This is the 3 pin rectangular pin.
Plastic bag ban
A ban on use of plastic carrier bags came into effect in 2017. Visitors to Kenya are advised to avoid packing plastic carrier bags in their luggage.
Security
Kenya tends to be quite secure for tourists especially within the tourist circuits. You do however need to observe the basic precautions i.e. avoid walking in dark/isolated areas at night, do not wear flashy jewellery, avoid carrying valuables around, etc.
Parks & Reserves
Kenya has a total of over 30 National Parks and Reserves, including Marine Parks. These are supplemented by private sanctuaries and game ranches which form about 10 per cent of Kenya’s surface area. The most popular Parks & Reserves are Maasai Mara, Samburu, Tsavo, Amboseli, and Lake Nakuru.
